Each class offered through Hylink Training Center is taught by an Adobe Certified Instructor. Class size will be limited and all participants will receive hands-on training at their own workstations. Class fees include one student text book and supplemental materials. Lab time (2 hours) will be included for classes over 8 hours & can be signed up within a week from the last day of the class.

Introduction to Videography and Adobe Premiere 6.0 - 5 hours Top
Description: This class is designed as a brief overview of the shooting and editing process. In this condensed class, participants will learn to shoot for the edit. The first half of class covers basic camera composition, perspectives and camera terminology. During class, participants will shoot assigned scenes and all footage will be analyzed and critiqued. The second half of the class includes an introduction to editing with Adobe Premiere. Editing class time is devoted to learning the very basics of how to assemble a final project. This includes: an intro to the Adobe Premiere interface, title creation, adding transitions, and exporting the final project. Participants are encouraged to bring their own DV camcorders and tripod. (Please include a tape and battery for your camera)

Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of how to operate a DV camcorder and previous computer experience in a Windows operating environment.

Intro to Digital Imaging with Adobe Photoshop 6.0  - Level I - 8hrs  top
Description: This course is designed for the beginning Photoshop user. We will start with the basics including: painting tools, selection tools and methods, working with layers, text editing, and scanning.
There will be a brief overview of different output methods including: images for the web, video, and print. By the end of the class you will be able to retouch old photos, combine multiple images into one, output images in various formats, and more.

Digital Imaging with Adobe Photoshop 6.0 - Level II -   4 hours top
Description: Expand your skills and learn the following: Use the new vector based shape and drawing tools. Compress images for use on the web by reducing the number of colors and using various file formats. Edit gradients using opacity and color stops. Fill type with patterns, gradients or images. Use quickmask selections and edit masks. Fix up an image with color and contrast controls. Use effects filters. Use the Channel mixer to make fantastic black and white images and more. By the end of this class you will be more comfortable working with complex multi-layered images including text, masks, effects and more. Hand outs will be provided.

Description:

Adobe Premiere with intro to After Effects is designed to provide a clear understanding of Adobe Premiere with a basic association to Adobe After Effects. During this class students will learn to combine video, audio and still image with Adobe Premiere then add effects using Adobe After Effects to create a final movie. Class sessions cover: the editing process, Adobe Premiere tools and how they work, Adobe After Effects tools (Basic) and how they work, title creation, and how to add transitions, audio, motion, and additional effects to your project. We will also cover capturing video & audio and how to export your final project from Premiere and After Effects. Video footage and handouts will be provided.

Description: This class is designed to teach you the concepts and skills to use Adobe Acrobat effectively. During class you will learn how to incorporate graphics, text, notes, QuickTime movies, create bookmarks, links, and generate postscript. Whether you are a designer, prepress professional or webmaster, Acrobat offers you many opportunities to enhance electronic documents. Handouts and still images will be provided.

Intro to Web Animation with Macromedia Flash 5.0 - 8 hrs Top
Description: This class is designed for beginners who want to learn all of the Flash features necessary to create their own cartoons, banners, greeting cards and snazzy animated buttons. Class one will survey fun examples of web animation and focus on drawing scenes, bitmaps and using the library. Class two will look at more advanced animation techniques, sound, special effects and action scripting. In addition to learning about Flash 5, students will also receive training on how to embed Flash movies into a web page and upload them so that friends all over the world can see their cartoons!

Introduction to Vector Graphics with Adobe Illustrator 9.0 - 8 hrs Top
Description: This course will bring working skills to the novice in Adobe Illustrator 9.0.
Starting at the ground level, we will explore the difference between bitmap and vector graphics and the advantages of each. We will explore Illustrator, navigation, the basic tools, the work area, menus and palettes. Drawing techniques, including Shapes, Layers, Filters, Effects, Masks, Groups and Actions are then discussed and a variety of projects. Once students have learned the basics, we will move into text, type and type manipulation. With these skills we will work with real life projects - designing logos, laying out basic business collateral, business cards, letterhead, envelopes. Adobe Illustrator is very powerful vector graphic software with what can be a steep learning curve. After this course, students should have a firm grip on the basics and be able to use Illustrator to create business collateral and design projects, build animations or as an artist's medium to create spot art illustrations.
